Writing Kissing In The Crow’s Nest

This short was hard to write for two reasons: I’m not a teenage boy and the whole point of the story is what the two boys just barely see and don’t understand. I guess I like to write complicated little puzzles. So I deep-dove into Conel and Padraig’s history and tried to capture the breathless longing of a forbidden crush. Another reason this story exists is because I was told that all I do is torture my characters and no one gets a happy ending. To be fair, my wife was totally correct when she said this. So…gay boy love. Roll with it.
